Romedi Passini, an architect and environmental psychologist, first articulated the modern concept of wayfinding as a dynamic process of spatial problem solving. He teaches at the School of Architecture, University of Montreal, where his academic role bridges environmental psychology and architectural design. He received his architectural training at the Eidgenössische Technische Hochshule (ETH) in Zurich, Switzerland, and obtained his Ph.D in environmental psychology at Pennsylvania State University. He is the author of Wayfinding in Architecture, published in 1984.
